FRIDAY PRAYER

INTRODUCTION

God, come to my assistance.

Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

PSALM 145 (part 2)

The Lord is gracious, merciful,
slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.
The Lord is good to all.
His tender mercies are over all his works.

All your works will give thanks to you, Lord.
Your saints will extol you.
They will speak of the glory of your kingdom,
and talk about your power,
to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts,
the glory of the majesty of his kingdom.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
The Lord is faithful in all his words,
and loving in all his deeds.

The Lord upholds all who fall,
and raises up all those who are bowed down.

INTERCESSIONS

For our churches and for those who enter them with faith, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, hear our prayer.

For all the clergy, preachers, and teachers in the service of Christ, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, hear our prayer.

For our country, the President, the Senate and the House, for Justices and Judges, and for all those in public service, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, hear our prayer.

For members of the military services, for policemen and firemen and emergency responders, and for all who put themselves in harm’s way for the sake of others, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, hear our prayer.

For this city, for every city and country, and for the faithful who live in them, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, hear our prayer.

For favorable weather, an abundance of the fruits of the earth, and for temperate seasons, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, hear our prayer.

For family and friends who are facing great challenges this day, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, hear our prayer.

For travelers by land, sea, and air; for the sick, the suffering, the captives, and for their salvation, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, have mercy.

For our deliverance from all affliction, wrath, danger, and distress, let us pray to the Lord:

Lord, have mercy.

Help us, save us, have mercy on us, and protect us, O God, by your grace:

Lord, have mercy.

Remembering the love and mercy of the Most High God, let us commit ourselves and our whole life to Christ our Lord:

To You, O Lord.

OUR FATHER

Together, let us pray as Jesus taught us:

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.

CONCLUSION

Lord, our God, whose power is beyond compare, and glory is beyond understanding; whose mercy is boundless, and love for us is beyond words to describe: Master, look upon us in your loving-kindness. Grant to us and to those who pray to you the riches of your mercy and compassion.

For to you belongs all glory, honor and worship: to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and forever.

Amen.
