“We are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.” –CS Lewis
My Christian faith started making a lot more sense when I realized that the goal isn’t to “get saved”, but to become a disciple.
We can’t really be sure that God is listening. If we could, then everyone would be praying. That’s why we call it “faith”.
When you start wrestling with the whole Bible (not just verses taken out of context), you begin to understand that following Jesus is all about faith and works.
So the political party of slavery and segregation wants us to believe that they will “save democracy”? There’s some irony.
