There are some Christians who say that all we have to do is believe in Jesus, nothing more. I suppose that kind of Christianity would be attractive to people who purchase lottery tickets.
Some people treat the Bible as though it’s a catechism. The problem is, the Bible is not a catechism. But it might work as a catechism…if you ever find yourself stuck on a deserted island.
