I’ve got no use for movie and TV producers who think that fantasy works like those of JRR Tolkien or CS Lewis or Andrzej Sapkowski need to be “updated for modern audiences”. The whole point of works such as these is that they can’t be updated, only diminished.
Human nature being what it is, you can find various “lobbying groups” within the Catholic Church. Some of these groups are hyper-focused on liturgical rubrics and language. Some groups are hyper-focused on leftist or feminist concerns. And other groups are focused on their own niche interests. Well, okay. But I steer clear of these Catholic lobbying groups. Why? First, because I can. Second, I became a Catholic because I don’t believe there’s a biblical justification for “denominations”.
